Aluminium from cans to sustainable vehicles

Geoff Scamans is the Chief Scientific Officer at Innoval Technology and is a Professor of Metallurgy at Brunel University. His expertise is in light metals and their applications in the automotive and aerospace industries, and in knowledge transfer from the research base to industry. His main interests are in developing higher performance aluminium alloys and in the closed loop recycling of end-of-life aluminium alloys as an alternative to primary production in order to transform the aluminium industry from packaging based products into transport based products.
