Are we on the road to nowhere?

This is most exciting time for UK automotive in years

‘We know change is coming. It will come whether we want it to or not. Automotive and Motorsport are the most agile industries in the world. If some of the challenges we are facing were put to the marine or aerospace industries, it would take them 2-3 years to start looking at the problem. In that time, we will have addressed the issue, found a solution, implemented it and have moved on.

So what does the changing landscape of the UK mean for us and what are we going to do about it in the near future?’

Iain Wight Business Development Director, Williams Advanced Engineering
Iain Wight is the Business Development Director for Williams Advanced Engineering.  Iain brings his decades of experience in commercial and product delivery in many sectors to support the further growth of the company. Iain started his career as an electronics engineer, working on aircraft navigation systems, before moving into a commercial role in automotive systems with multinational German engineering company, Bosch. In 1995, he took a step towards motorsport as Sales Manager for the rapidly expanding control and data acquisition company, Pi Research. Following on from there in 2003, Iain was appointed Business Development Director for Ricardo Motorsport, moving to the position of Director of Transmission Systems before joining Williams in July 2017. Iain is also Chairman of the Motorsports Industry Association, having served on the committee since 2010.
